Location: Remote, with occasional (limited) travel to SFS HQ in Beverly, MA.
Position Summary: The Human Resources Manager is responsible for supporting an inclusive and welcoming organizational culture. The Manager oversees recruitment, onboarding, and benefits administration for U.S.-based staff and international field staff, and supports personnel development and management.

Human Resources Manager Responsibilities:
Recruitment
Post job announcements on SFS website and appropriate external job sites and work with Marketing Manager to post on social media
Actively seek out networks and new recruitment channels to promote SFS positions, with special emphasis on attracting candidates from diverse backgrounds.
Maintain online resume database and track applicants on SFS’s internal job tracking system
Conduct preliminary screening, collect references, background checks, and driving record checks, as needed
HR Administration & Compliance
Coordinate the onboarding and offboarding processes
Maintain HR records database and organizational charts
Collect, monitor, and submit monthly headcount reports
Manage HR annual budget
Ensure I9 compliance
Revamp and maintain US Employee Handbook, and advise on Employee Handbooks for SFS’s international entities
Oversee annual performance evaluation process
Conduct compensation reviews and make recommendations to senior management
Collaborate with Operations to review hiring practices and labor laws
Benefits Administration
Work with broker to annually shop for competitive pricing on benefits and present to senior management
Manage benefits including health insurance, HSA, dental insurance, short and long-term disability plans, life and AD&D plans, retirement plan, FMLA, workers compensation, unemployment and COBRA
Employee Relations
Receive employee support requests and assist with facilitation and documentation
Partner with supervisors on performance improvement plans, as needed
Investigate employment discrimination and harassment claims per SFS policy and legal requirements
Organizational Culture & Training
Assist senior management in promoting a positive and inclusive remote work/hybrid/multi-time zone culture
Identify training needs within the organization and external consultants to deliver training as needed i.e. JEDI, HIPAA compliance, harassment, conflict mediation, etc.
Desired Qualifications
U.S. work authorization required
2 years relevant experience in HR management
SHRM-CP preferred
Experience with recruitment and benefits administration
Detail-oriented with effective communication and customer service skills
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to travel abroad to address HR matters at SFS centers or lead trainings (estimated travel is at approximately one trip annually, and as needed for HR matters)
Experience working cross-culturally
Non-profit HR experience strongly preferred
Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
